The Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Drug Take-Back Day is scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, April 27th from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. This is a great time to get rid of unused and unwanted medications. Since 2010, five Take-Back Days have netted over two million pounds of unused and unwanted medications. The initiative stems from legislation aimed at removing medications that have abuse potential and are often procured from the medicine cabinets of friends and families. It’s also important to dispose of medications in an environmentally safe way. I have identified Louisville area locations participating:
- Fiscal Court Building- 531 Court Place, 6th Floor, Louisville, KY
- Jefferson County Public Schools Admin Office-3332 Newburg Rd, Louisville, KY
- Norton Healthcare-4950 Norton Healthcare Blvd, Louisville, KY
- Clarksville Town Building Entrance off Veterans Pkwy-1970 Broadway, Clarksville, IN
There are several locations outside the Louisville area including Buckner, LaGrange, Taylorsville and Fort Knox.
